*The event starts at 10pm with the contestants (or a friend) performing in their costumes.
*At 11pm, judges select the winners as Johnny Hootrock performs.
*At midnight, Annabella Lugosi of The Scarlet Darlings Burlesque Troupe will announce the winners and hand out prizes.
*The Scarlet Darlings will then perform ending the night with a shimmy and a shake and show us how Burlesque is done!

Rules:

-Show off their costume designs by performing (or having a friend dance) on stage.
-Contestant performances will last no longer than 5 minutes each.
-Contestants will be judged solely on costume, not the dancing skills!
-There is a maximum of 10 contestants.
-Contestant performances will end promptly at 11pm.
-Austin’s, Johnny Hootrock Band will entertain during judging, from 11pm- midnight.
-Annabella Lugosi from The Scarlet Darlings will announce the winners and award the prizes.
-The finale features a performance by The Scarlet Darlings.

This is La Divina Production’s teaser show to introduce our new burlesque season! Celebrate National Dance Day by participating in one of the largest burlesque dance classes in the country.
Dallas, Texas - As part of his commitment to support dance education and physical fitness in the United States, Nigel Lythgoe, director, producer, choreographer, philanthropist and former dancer, is launching National Dance Day on “So You Think You Can Dance.” National Dance Day will take place on July 31, 2010. To celebrate, Verandah Club at Hilton Anatole and West Village will host a Burlesque Dance and Body Sculpt class, striving to achieve recognition as the largest burlesque dance class in the country.
The one-hour complimentary class will be held on Saturday, July 31 from 10am to 11am at West Village (3699 McKinney Avenue, Dallas, TX, 75204), the mixed-use development of young urban dwellers and hip boutiques and restaurants. The class will be held outside in the North Alley between Avalon Salon and PointMobl. Students can wear workout clothes or yoga attire and sneakers. Walk-ups welcome. Shimmy, shake and strut your stuff at the (hopefully!) country’s largest Burlesque Dance and Body Sculpt class. Trainer Jana Edele, Founder and Artistic Director of the cabaret show and production company, The Velvet Kittens, incorporates classical and contemporary dance exercises with burlesque dance movement and mood appropriate music to create a fun and playful tone-and-tease dance class. The end result is an all around workout of most all the major muscle groups, strength and stamina, flexibility and coordination, and attitude and confidence. Burlesque Body Sculpt is a fantastic, fun, and exciting approach to dance-fitness, toning and strengthening. Verandah Club, a state-of-the-art fitness facility at Hilton Anatole, features Burlesque Body Sculpt classes weekly.
