Satan’s Angel is a burlesque legend, the QUEEN and ORIGINATOR of Fire Tassel Twirling. Born and raised in San Francisco, Satan’s Angel’s career began in North Beach in 1961. Satan’s Angel is a pioneer lesbian in the world of burlesque - getting fired from jobs because of her sexuality, she kept on. While maintaining her integrity as a burlesque artist, Satan’s Angel kept the fire of this American art alive, and reignited the love of this art in thousands and thousands of performers worldwide. Come see why she is one of the top burlesque performers - from yesterday to today. No one can compare to the fire and energy of her presence onstage. On a historical note, the last time Satan’s Angel performed in Dallas was for Jack Ruby at the Carousel Club in late 1963. Even then she was one of Jack’s “Weekly Feature” acts. LDP has also booked for the first time in Dallas, Jett Adore, one of Chicago’s “Stage Door Johnnies,” a Classical Male Burlesque Troupe. Jett Adore and the guys are a sensation on the modern “Boylesque” scene. Jett Adore won the award for “Most Innovative Performance” at the 2011 Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend in Las Vegas in June. The Stage Door Johnnies won “Best Troupe.” LDP will also feature the performance of Iva Handful (Seattle), Athena Fatale (Los Angeles), Ginger Valentine, La Divina, Iris Lamour and many others in the show. The Ruby Revue Burlesque Show celebrates its first anniversary with a very special show at the Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff, Friday April 29 at 8p.m. The Ruby Revue Burlesque Show presents a variety show like no other with special guests including Jack Ruby dancer and burlesque legend Tammi True, circus burlesque performers, Evil Hate Monkey (Mr. Exotic World, 2010) and Trixie Little (NYC), Baltimore), singer Jolie Goodnight (Austin) and live music from The Royal Rythmmaires. Cast members and local favorites such as Elisa, Ginger Valentine (Best Tease, Texas Burlesque Festival), Melissa Meaow and Angi B Lovely (Best Solo, Texas Burlesque Festival) and Ruby Revue dance troupes, “Rated R” and “Ginger Valentine’s Lone Star Sweethearts” will also perform. 2011 Spring Swing Burlesque Revue The La Divina Productions returns the 2011 Spring Swing Burlesque Revue to Kessler Theater and Oak Cliff. La Divina Productions brings back Michelle L’Amour one of the most renowned burlesque performers of the modern era. Michelle L’Amour is the winner of the 2005 Ms. Exotic World/Burlesque Hall of Fame competition. She has appeared on stages from Sao Paulo to Switzerland, Sydney to London, Los Angeles to Paris and every important burlesque venue across North America. Michelle L’Amour is the founder of the Lavender Cabaret in Chicago, Illinois. She is also the founder of the new literary salon show sweeping the nation Naked Girls Reading. Michelle has produced instructional video in burlesque that have trained a whole new generation of performers in the art of bump and grind. Michelle L’Amour is known around the world as “The Ass that goes POW!” La Divina Productions is also happy to bring back Kristi Kruger as your musical entertainment of this show. NOIR BOUDOIR On the evening of March 31, you are invited to step into the wonderfully dark world of the Noir Boudoir! The night is fantastically filled with Ball-Busting Burlesque, Debaucherous Drag, and even a Naughty Art Showcase to stimulate the senses. Noir Boudoir boasts quite a busty lineup of entertainment, including the Hostess of the Evening, “The First Burlesque (Drag) Queen in the World”, Nikki Trash. Trash has made quite a sucessful name for herself in the world of underground performance; through her subversive, perversive, and often inappropriate (yet highly entertaining) stage presence. Acts of the evening include 12 unique, professional burlesque and neo-burlesque entertainers. These girls will play with fire, break the rules of the convent, and perform amazing feats of magic, all while staying true to the art of burlesque. Also performing at Noir Boudoir are the two raunchiest female impersonators in the biz. Ms. Trash, in addition to being the hostess, will unleash her arsenal of bizarre and scentilating acts with her “take no prisoners” approach to strip tease. Josie Lee holds back nothing with her stimulating and often sexually comedic performances. Noir Boudoir is a completely new, fresh, and dirty take on nightlife parties. This time the naked girls tackle “Love Bites.” This post Valentine’s Day homage to Food, Bad Relationships and Vampires explores the intersections of bad love, food and lust.
The ladies will be reading selections from the classics to the modern, from the dramatic to the humorous, from the frightening to the delightful and all the lovely ladies will read naked for the interest and enjoyment of our fans. This cast includes, La Divina, Black Mariah, Angie B Lovely, Cora Cocquette and Desirée d’Envie, who is new to the Dallas stage. Keeping in the spirit of the subject, light food will be served buffet style in the front of the gallery. This event is BYOB, really bring your own drinks. Over 40 Burlesque Stars to Perform in the Third Annual Dallas Burlesque Festival at The House of Blues
Garters and stockings and tassels - oh my! The Third Annual Dallas Burlesque Festival is Friday and Saturday, January 21st and 22nd at the House of Blues Dallas, and with it comes over 40 dazzling stripteasing starlets from around the country. The opening showcase on Friday night takes place inside the Cambridge Room at 9 p.m. The main room inside of House of Blues will host Saturday’s showcase. Reserved, VIP packages are available for Saturday night, and the show starts at 8 p.m. The Dallas Burlesque Festival has quickly become a much anticipated event, having sold out every show since it’s first year in 2009. Featuring local vendors, a live pin-up shoot and a decadent fashion show, The Dallas Burlesque Festival is a two-day event cram packed with glitter, gleam and bump and grind.
“I am so excited for this year’s festival,” said Executive Producer, Elisa Davis. “We have a really great line up of entertainers and the pin up shoot is always a crowd favorite. The House of Blues is a great venue for our annual event, and this year will be the biggest and the best yet!” Tickets are available online or at the Box Office.
